Who We Are
The Dorm is powered by young and inspired people. Our team aims to learn, solve problems, and assist our customers to the best of our ability, solely because we are capable of doing so.
We want to develop our skills as leaders, workers, and problem solvers. Our passions are personal growth, creative expression, and business; The Dorm allows us to work on all three at once, in and out of school.
The Dorm was founded in Milwaukee, WI, and was born from the passion for learning while we attended UW-Milwaukee’s Lubar School of Business/Peck School of the Arts. Unable to study both business and art full-time, The Dorm successfully bridged the gap between our personal passions and our long-term aspirations, allowing our team to further every goal under one project.
College was the first time we felt that we had real freedom. Wanting to make the most of it, we decided to work as hard as we could on schoolwork. This eventually included extracurricular activities, and before long, the idea for a business started brewing. This is when we decided to focus on helping other college students find the passion for hard work as we had.
Working with college students and faculty, campus organizations, and resources from outside of school turned The Dorm into a reality. Collaboration is a key part of our process and success. It helped us to turn our loose ideas of selling art, practicing ecommerce, reselling shoes, or dropshipping products into a business with a brand and a message that needed to be spread, just like what college had taught us to do.
